A sad day, I've just returned from one of England's well known steak house chains completely dismayed.
I just love a good old English roast beef and yorkshire pudding on Sunday, only when I ordered the waitress asking if I wanted 'to large it'! By the look on her face I thought she was asking for a fight, but soon realised that the waitress has been programmed to feed this into her ordering routine in an attempt to get me to order a larger portion. What did the good old English roast beef and yorkshire pud do to deserve such bad taste? It's English, a roast dinner doesn't need to be Americanised (sorry Americanized) and 'larged'. A roast dinner has for the past 100 years been designed to fill you up, and if a regular portion doesn't fill you up, then clearly it isn't a English Roast beef and yorkshire pudding meal as we know it. And while we're on the subject of England losing it's identity, has anyone noticed when you pay for goods on-line with any shop website and use the country drop down menu it doesn't show England, only the United Kingdom?
