Distribution of your videos |

There are hundreds of ways to get your video out to the general public, employees, clients and customers. Here is a brief guide on several ways in which we can help distribute your final video production. Your Website When your video is completed it is a simple process to create a version for your company website. There are various formats for videos on the web but we prefer to use Flash. Flash content is watchable by 99.0%* of all internet users in the UK, US, Canada, France, Germany and Japan. Quicktime is a great format for quality v.s. file size BUT is only watchable by 62%* of internet users. In time this will grow but at the moment Flash is the way to go. DVD DVD is an excellent format for a finished video as over 89%** of the households in the UK have a DVD player. DVD's are generally used when the video is too long (longer than 5 minutes) for use on a website and you would rather people watch the DVD from the comfort of their armchair than at a computer desk. CD-ROM CD-ROMs are pretty rare these days since DVD has taken over. With a CD-ROM you have a huge choice of file formats and can also put multiple formats on the same disc such as Windows Media for Windows (PC) owners and Quicktime for Mac users. The benefit of CD-ROM is that nearly every computer has a CD drive so everyone with a computer will be able to read the disc. USB Drives USB Drives are a more expensive media but can also be used as a gift and you know they will be used and not thrown away. USB drives can be made to appear as two drives on your computer - One with your video(s) on and the other with free space which people can use as a typical USB drive you would find in the shops. With the free space they can copy files onto and off of the drive. We can also lock the videos so they can't be deleted! Podcasting Podcasts are simply video files. In their most common format they are Quicktime files which are also compatible with, and be transferred to iPods and iPhones. Once your clients/customers subscribe, they will be alerted to new videos that you have made available which make Podcasts ideal for regular weekly/monthly videos such as internal company news, announcements or even a series of training/informational videos. Powerpoint Many clients want to incorporate the videos we produce into existing Powerpoint Presentations to show the video in a presentation they will be giving. This is not a problem and we can encode the videos in a format which Powerpoint can read. * Figures measured in June 2009 and can be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/player_census/flashplayer/ ** Figures from Consumer Durables survey found on http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=868 |
