AlexIt's a good feeling when you have a work experience student who is genuinely interested in persuing a creative career, has real talent and demonstrates a willingness to become involved as a team player. We were lucky enough to have a student, Alex Boreham who had a few words to say about her experience in at the deep end.

This is what she had to say...

Work Experience Website DesignIn August 2010, I was given the opportunity to join the 'High Profile' team for a week of work experience.

I found the experience extremely enjoyable and beneficial. I am currently a Fine Art student, specialising in Photography. From this experience, I hoped to gain a greater insight of how the industry works; in preparation for when I leave university and have to decide which career path I wish to follow.

Throughout the week, I explored a variety of different projects. I began by photographing and editing pairs of spectacles, for use in a brochure. I then created and published a personal website using iweb: You can visit my site at: www.alexboreham.co.uk

Egg PhotographI helped to arrange pages for a school news article and learnt key techniques such as 'clipping'. I also experimented with important programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXPress.

On my final day, I was set the challenge of photographing an egg in the lighting studio; trying to make it look as good as it possibly could.

Overall, I had a fantastic week and would certainly recommend the experience to anyone interested in this type of field.

Kind regards,
Alex

Top Marketing Tips

Marketing your company website on the internet

Inbound links - Linking from other websites to your website will open up new channels for website visitors. Major search engines will consider the number of relevant incoming links (other websites with related content) to your website and will often place your website higher on relevant searches. Inbound links from websites with a high page rank (4 or more) will be considered better quality links. To find out any website’s page rank (including your own), simply search for ‘page rank tool’ and install on your browser.
